Abstract: The budget and cycle of the nitrogen oxides in the troposphere and their source/sink process are reviewed and discussed. The chemical behavior, anthropogenic and natural emissions and dry and wet depositions of nitrogen oxides in the troposphere are studied. In addition, the NOx from the combustion of fossil fuel, lightning and microbial activities in soils and dry and wet depositions in our country are estimated.
